SACRAMENTO, February 24--- A lucky California lottery player in Los Angeles definitely woke up on the right side of the bed this morning. That's because they matched five of six numbers in last night's MEGA millions draw, netting them a cool $ 215,488.
The winning ticket was purchased at Island Pacific Supermarket located at 225-229 South Vermont Avenue. The winning numbers on the ticket were 40,4, 16 ,53, 36 and the Mega number -- the only number the ticket did not match -- was 18.
MEGA Millions is a multi-state game , played in California and 34 other states. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 plus a MEGA number from 1 to 46. Draw times are Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 pm PST. And others received gift certificates and t-shirts being given away at the event.
